--So today is was the official announcement that my favorite band in the whole world is ending. I cannot say that they are breaking up as they have stated that they will continue to make music and focus on other projects, but they feel that Madina Lake has reached it's limits and they've achieved all that they set out to with the band.--
In a way, I feel satisfied that the guys, my heroes are moving forward and doing what they want to do. Their happiness means more to me than anything, they gave me my happiness and I'd do anything to support theirs in turn. However, the thought 'my favourite band in the whole world is ending' the idea that the songs that kept me alive and encouraged me to live, to fight my depression, my anxiety and my for my future..they are all I will have left. I don't know how to feel about that.
I mean, obviously I feel so grateful, but I feel slightly lost. The tour they've announced for the UK is extremely extensive and I am lucky enough to be able to attend several of the dates, but to think that...that's it. That's the last times I'll see the river people and feel the energy of the souls and the smiling faces of the bands and the happiness and release of emotion to the songs..
ugh I just can't think. I love this band with my soul. I owe them my being, I will forever remember this band, this community as the greatest and most beautiful part of my youth. They brought me to life, taught me how to be alive and showed me that there is ALWAYS a way out.
forever and always a river person xo
