And now, after over three years, I finally made my way to Duck and Waffle in Heron Tower. After convincing everyone of the place I was nervous. Will the food be great or just average? A couple of months ago I received an invite to attend Love Beetroot’s #DontSkipABeet event – an awesome cooking workshop with the infamous dreamboat and head chef of the Duck and Waffle – Dan Doherty. After two lovely events on the road in Brighton and Malton we're coming back to London for something very special. Two nights of very intimate dinners with chef Dan Doherty, taking time out from his position as exec chef of the Duck & Waffle.

It's part of Waterloo Quarter Food festival and the second after Brighton in our series of Supernature dinners. Each will take a different element and explode them in a riot of tastes, colours and textures.

For this dinner that element is Flora; {Fl}. Each of the eight beautifully presented courses will showcase Doherty’s different takes on seasonal British herbs and flowers. This is boutique style dining - each sitting only holds 16 diners - so everyone gets an intimate audience with London’s hottest chef as he talks you through his incredible menu.

As well as the full eight courses, a journey of specially selected matched wines and spirits is included in the ticket price of just £95.

Tuesday 29th April, 2.30pm Hotelympia When you look on social networks you will see hundreds of thousands of images posted of food within the last month.  Many people actually take photos and upload to a social network with the hashtag foodporn before they've even take a bite of food.  But what is this doing for the hospitality industry?  Is it a fantastic way of promoting a chef or restaurant?
