NewsNation host Dan Abrams battled Megyn Kelly on Thursday over the guilty verdict in Donald Trump's criminal trial.
Charlie Nash at Mediaite:
NewsNation host and Mediaite founder Dan Abrams battled Megyn Kelly on Thursday over the guilty verdict in Donald Trumpâs criminal trial. Abrams spoke to Kelly on his NewsNation show Dan Abrams Live after Trump was found guilty by a jury of all 34 counts of falsifying business records in his New York hush money trial. However, the conversation blew up after Abrams said âthere was definitely wrongdoingâ on Trumpâs part, even if the case could be made that it wasnât illegal. âWhat was it?â questioned Kelly, to which Abrams replied, âWhat was the wrongdoing? Alright, number one, itâs $130,000 to a porn star to keep her quiet, to try to protect your campaign. Can we at least agree thatâs wrong?â
âHow was it wrong?â protested Kelly. âI donât know what kind of weird marriage these two have. Same as I didnât know what kind of weird marriage Bill and Hillary Clinton had. So I donât know what their covenant is in terms of what heâs allowed to do on the outside of his marriage.â Abrams shot back, âIâm not talking about the sex. Iâm talking about the $130,000 to keep [Stormy Daniels] quiet to protect his campaign.â âItâs not immoral,â Kelly insisted. âThereâs nothing wrong with that at all. Nothing.â The conversation continued to become heated after Abrams pressed, âYou donât think he falsified business records either?â âI donât know what he did,â claimed Kelly. Abrams snapped, âWhat does that mean?! We just had a whole trial! We heard every detail of this! How can you not know?â
On last night's edition of NewsNation's Dan Abrams Live, host Dan Abrams and guest Megyn Kelly traded barbs over the Trump business records falsification trial verdict that was handed down. Kelly embarrassed herself to the nation during her appearance on Dan Abrams Live.
From the 05.30.2024 edition of NewsNation's Dan Abrams Live:
NewsNationâs Dan Abrams announced the return of âLive PDâ under a new name and on a new network.
J.J. Bullock at NewsNation Now:Â
(NewsNation) â Fans of âLive PDâ can rejoice ⌠the popular TV show, which followed police officers around on their patrol beats live, is returning to television under a new name and on a new network.
NewsNationâs Dan Abrams, who hosted âLive PDâ during its run on A&E, announced Wednesday that he will be hosting and executive producing a new version of the show, âOn Patrol: Live,â on Reelz.
âSo first I want to say âthank youâ to Live PD Nation,â Abrams said. âI know this wait was long but we needed the right platform to make this show what it should be. You never gave up the faith and neither did I. As many of you know, I had been advocating for the show to return since the day it went off the air.â
âLive PDâ was pulled off the air by A&E in wake of the death of Minnesota man George Floyd at the hands of police Officer Derek Chauvin. When A&E canceled the show, they called it âa critical time in our nationâs history.â
The show itself was also broiled in controversy at the time, as it became known that âLive PDâ filmed, then destroyed, footage of a man dying in police custody in 2019. At the time, producers said they regretted the action and that it was standard practice to destroy footage when an investigation was complete.
[...]
But now, Abrams will once again host an iteration of the live cop show, along with frequent contributor to âLive PDâ and NewsNationâs âDan Abrams Live,â Sean âSticksâ Larkin.
Larkin said the return of the show has been âa long time coming.â
Live PD is back on the air again, albeit under a new name and headed to a new channel. NewsNation host Dan Abrams will helm the new program called On Patrol: Live, and will air on Reelz Channel.Â
I love scrolling through the Phan tag and seeing so much cute Dan and Phil gifs, fanarts, fics, edits, etc and then the couple Vietnamese posts sprinkled in

WSJ op-ed calls Dearborn, Michigan 'America's Jihad Capital' | On Balance
Abrams, who also serves as ABC News chief legal analyst and owns Mediaite and Law & Crime Network, will step aside from his show in February
Alex Weprin at THR:
NewsNation will need to find a new host for its critical 9 p.m. hour, with Dan Abrams set to step aside from his primetime program early next year. Abrams announced his decision Thursday at the end of his program Dan Abrams Live, adding that he will step aside from his show in February. Abrams is one of the media businessâ biggest multitaskers, serving as ABC News chief legal analyst, a satellite radio host, host and producer for the Reelz Channel show On Patrol Live, and as the owner of a digital media empire that includes Mediaite, Law & Crime Network and other brands, all in addition to his nightly NewsNation program.
âAs you may know, I also host a weekend show called On Patrol Live that follows police in real time, I host a daily radio show on SiriusXM and appear on ABC News as its chief legal analyst,â Abrams said Thursday. âBut in my on-air roles, I devote far more of my time to this show than anything else, and as hard as it is for me to admit, itâs not just not practical to do this show all week while also running, and expanding, my businesses.â âThree years after this really unexpected opportunity, Iâve reached the point where itâs impossible to keep devoting the time needed for this show while also running and growing my other businesses,â he added. Abrams said that he will remain with NewsNation â albeit not as an anchor â with more details to come in February. NewsNation is expected to name his successor early next year as well.
Dan Abrams will terminate his nightly NewsNation show Dan Abrams Live in February of next year. This is due to Abrams seeking to reduce workload in order to focus on other projects.
Abrams will remain at NewsNation, albeit not in a hosting role.
Action absorbs anxiety.
