To say she was freaking out was beyond an understatement. She hadn’t been planning on bidding on him. She hadn’t been planning on bidding at all, but then she heard his fun fact, that he had played Danny Zuko in Grease, and something had just come over her. It was impulsive to say the least. Sure, she had always found Damien attractive, even back in high school when she would sleepover the Pierce’s house in those ridiculously embarrassing cupcake pajama pants of hers. Back when she had been going through an awkward phase, when she had glasses and acne and horrible blonde highlights that she had gotten put in, in a poor attempt to fit in. But, he had just been that. Liv’s attractive older brother. She had never even let her mind go there, assuming she’d never have a chance anyway, so what was the point? She had dated other people and so had he. They had gone their separate ways, with Astrid even trying out college for a little less than a year, before moving back to town and getting a small little apartment of her own. But, now... Now, as she fidgeted with the hem of the white Lacey dress she was wearing over her bathing suit, hoping the dress wasn’t as see through as it had seemed in the mirror and that she wouldn’t look too awkward in it since dresses were typically not really her thing... now she couldn’t help, but wonder if things between them might be different? 

Opening the door, she gave the boy who had been in her life for so long now a playful little curtsy. “Hi,” Astrid said softly, glancing down at her high tops, before looking back up at him with a warm and blissful smile. “So, I guess I kind of stole you away from the other girls, huh?” 

Carter paced back and forth on the front step of the house, desperately trying to find the right words to say. A thousand questions were running through her mind with each passing second. How do you even go about telling someone that you’re their long lost sister? Let alone asking them, how long they had actually been looking for and if he really even wanted her, seeing that last time she checked he had looked her in the eyes without the slightest bit of recognition on his face? Glancing down at her worn out converse that were falling apart at the seams and had a hole where her big toe should be, she let out a little gulp. Man, this was a nice house, she couldn’t help, but think. Knowing fairly well how she looked right now, with a tangled mess for hair, dirt under her fingernails, and oversized clothes that hung oddly off her overly skinny frame, didn’t quite fit. But, then the door flew open and there he was. The blonde tree-like of a man she remembered from before. She was half-tempted to throw her arms around him and pull him in for a hug. But, instead of doing anything of the sort, she held her chin up high, holding out the wanted poster towards him and asking him bluntly, “You wanna tell me what the fuck this is?”

Happy Birthday Carter, 

You don’t know how much it means to me to actually get to say that to you. To get you gifts and celebrate with you. I know we’re still not quite as close as we were as kids, but in time we will be. I appreciate you lettin'  me do all this for you. And remember you owe me a siblin’ date of fixin’ up your room together. I hope you like this death trap I bought you and that you stay safe while drivin it. I also didn’t know what to make you for your birthday dinner, but…I made everything I thought you might like. To many more birthdays in each other’s lives.
