Oh, that's complicated, cause I see Colin as both Buttercup AND Westley but mostly Buttercup. Sorry for the late reply by the way, had a lot to think about.

So yes, I do have an AU concept (keyword being concept) in my mind based off the Princess Bride, but there are some changes.

I see Colin being a farm boy, St. Aden's being a farm. One day, when he was a kid (not sure whether to go with 10 or 13) a new boy came to work on the farm, but it would only be for the summer. Damian was a brat, and Colin didn't put up with his shit. They had a fist fight in the pig pen, and after that Damian was a lot calmer and respected Colin. When Colin told him to tend to the horses, to harvest the crops, to chop the wood, Damian would answer with "as you wish".

By the end of the summer, Colin was devasted that Damian was leaving. He knew it was stupid to think he was in love, but he really believed he loved Damian, and he wanted to believe that every time Damian said "as you wish" it was his way of returning his feelings. Especially when Damian asks if he can come back one day.

What Colin didn't know was that Damian was really a prince, sent to St. Aden's to learn humility and the lesson of hard work by his father. When he returned to his kingdom, he told his father that he met the boy who would be his husband. But when they journey back to St. Aden's with the royal convoy, they found the farm burned to the ground, the banner of the kingdom across the sea erected in its soil. They'd conquered the land on the edge of Damian's kingdom's territory, and declared war.

I mean there's the tie in fics. Including the Tim POV, the Jason prequel/Bruce prequel, the snippets of this AU in the future, the possible "what if" fic where I could explore any branch in the timeline that would be interesting to me, the Colin's mom sequel. So like...five-ish possible add ons to this universe?

Not to mention the AU ideas I've talked about here, the Reverse Little Mermaid AU, the Omegaverse AU, and more. AND and at least a half dozen one shot/two shot ideas. Now how often I post will be more sporadic I'm sure, because the posting schedule is a bit rough on me though it keeps me in line, but I would like to write these things still.

That's not even to mention the Hazbin Hotel crap I'm writing at the same time. (if any of y'all wanted to check those out I'd be grateful but no pressure)

And hey, that's not even my original idea. That's canon. Lest we forget one of the first things they said to each other, in the spirit of protecting the dumb kid who showed up where kids were found dead.

I mean I can GUESS. Based on recent posts made by me about omegaverse stuff.

I mean I've talked before about Damian being an alpha and Colin an omega. I can talk about what that's like?

Damian is the sweetest alpha ever. He doesn't even go into Colin's pup nests (nests made by pups, not nest for having pups) without his permission, but once he has it he puts his scent all over it A. for Colin's sake, and B. to keep other alpha and beta pups away. When Colin thinks he's being clever and taking Damian's clothes for his nest, Damian is actually leaving them where he can find them. By the time Colin's old enough for actual nests and actual heats he REALLY can't think straight without Damian's scent near him or on him.

For a long time Damian avoided Colin during his ruts, even when he helped with Colin's heats, because in his words it "makes him act too brazen". Colin had no idea what that meant until he begged to be there for the next one, said they didn't even have go all the way if it made Damian more comfortable. Needless to say Colin's thighs were very...used. Don't worry, he's very into it.

Colin was supposed to be omega from birth, but a run in with one Jonathan Crane made things more complicated. Because you see, Bane's Venom is made with Alpha pheromones. So once Colin got out of that situation, he realized that his scent wasn't quite right. On the plus side, he gets left alone more be alphas and betas, on the negative side, he worried he'd never find a mate. When he's Abuse he smells so damn strongly of alpha that it sticks to him when he changes back. Thankfully Damian has a very strong nose and is always able to smell his real scent, no matter the form.

Of the two, Colin is actually the more possessive one. Sure, Damian will growl at anyone who looks at Colin the wrong way, but Colin will hiss at an omega or beta from across the room if he smells even the slightest arousal pointed in Damian's direction. Once they start marking each other Colin has to leave at least one bite where everyone can see it.

And yes, Damian wanted to become official mates after their first time. Bruce had to tell him to wait until they weren't teenagers anymore. Heat and rut sharing was one thing, but official mates can be a lifetime commitment. (Colin was a fringe member of the pack that Bruce adores of course, he just didn't want them having regrets, bond ties being unrenewed is painful and emotionally taxing)

Is that plenty of omegaverse stuff for this question? I ask because I've barely scraped the surface, and that's not even mentioning the GoT AU thing I mentioned before. I'm MORE than open to answering omegaverse based asks from any of y'all. Just know that if you ask about sex position or anything within that realm, you WILL get an answer whether or not you like what it is.

Damian comes across as more traditional to me, wouldn't surprise me at all if he proposed at 13 because he felt as if that was an old enough age to get married. (sometimes I imagine Colin says yes but tells him they have to have a long engagement because his American culture says he has to wait until he's at least 18, which Damian respects) If so there's definitely a promise ring that Damian either sizes up or replaces each year that Colin otherwise never takes off. He wears that alongside his official wedding band for the rest of his life, even when his fingers are old and arthritic and knobby.

As for the superhero thing, they stay in the game a long time. Judge me as you will, but Damian for sure becomes one of the future Batmans, maybe not the next but one of them. Colin will always fight by his side. At the very least to their mid 40s, and then in more supportive roles later on. Down the line Colin effectively becomes the next Alfred to whichever generation comes after them and Damian I like to imagine is something like Batman Beyond's Bruce; old and cranky but still a mentor and teacher.

Oh my gosh that's right, chapter 23 is this Sunday! I actually had to go into my calendar and check, as well as add the finished chapters into the schedule lol. Chapters 24 and 25 will both come out in July, one at the beginning of the month, the other at the end.

Fun fact I do have chapters finished and in reserve for the coming weeks, but this gives me time to go over them and make sure to catch as many typos as I can, and for what I miss I now have a beta reader to catch~
