I did! lol. Hate the movie that is. Drove me nuts. I mean, it was beautifully shot and the production was incredible. But the script and story was ridiculous. Apart from the actual sinking of the boat bit…we all know what happened there.

That's the whole point though. As good and lovely Ruby maybe, she's meant to be almost a polar opposite of Red. Red is supposed to be uber moral, the big bad wolf is a metaphor of men who prey upon innocent young girls. Ruby is meant to be sexually forward, whether or not the word skank is an appropriate word for it shouldn't be an issue. It's, however, unfortunately it may be a general descriptor of what she presents herself as. And its not as though anyone bad mouthed Meghan Ory.
Others have pointed out the juxtaposition between Red's very modest outfits versus Ruby's less-than-modest ones. And I love the metaphor you've touched upon regarding the thematic message of the fairytale. And it would go to reason that the curse would thus have this effect on Red's character, turning her into someone who is portrayed as not-so-innocent and more of a woman on the prowl. Also, she and her grandmother do not have the close relationship, it seems, as was in the fairytale.
