As much as I love making to-do lists and dreaming big, this week has mostly been about healing (from a shortlived stomach flu and a broken heart) as well as getting back into a healthier routine after the holiday season’s excesses.
Starting my weekend at my favourite vegetarian café Daluma in Berlin I read about how different foods (eggs, raisins and certain seeds) and supplements such as vitamin D and B6 may help fix the hormonal imbalances that influence my gut health, ageing and fertility.
Then I daydreamt about possible trips and destinations I’d like to visit this year including my beloved Paris and the to me still unexplored beauty of Portugal. Oh to spend a couple of weeks there hiking, meditating and doing yoga…
Back home I practised some vinyasa flow and invited a friend over for a guitar and singing session - singing really brings out the best in me! I love indulging every now and then so we went for some chocolate espresso cheese cake at Bar Misirlou to celebrate our musical progress.
After that it was time to prepare the roasted carrots with rosemary/turmeric paired with smoked trout and stir-fried brussel sprouts with apple, sunflower seeds, feta cheese and raisins for a girl’s night home.
How did you spend your Saturday and what does a fresh start in 2017 mean to you?
