come on, come on. your nose is better than this. way better. you aren’t one to forget a scent. focus!
through a seemingly desolate world the wolf ventures forward. anxiety sits at the pit of his stomach like a boulder, heavy and unmoving. those he has come across in his stead were all seemingly okay. no blemishes nor bruises; fractures or cuts. he had helped a few civilians take shelter based on his own surroundings. and when they had told him otherwise, he made sure to find a safe place where both of them could agree to settle. legosi had been doing this all day.
even on this never-ending island, he hadn’t found her. part of him hoped she was in the safety of her own home. another part wanted for her to be spared of such confusion. maybe... maybe by some miracle, she wasn’t witnessing this chaos. no skulking predators to look out for, nor any structures to be weary of. he wanted for her to be one of the lucky ones.
perhaps he’d find that out soon enough.
a faint smell wafts past his nose. there’s a little sniffle of confirmation before taking a deep, long inhale. as he picks up the pace it grows stronger and stronger. so much so, legosi had no choice but to run straight into the source it had been coming from.
“ suzuka? ”
and quite literally at that.
“ suzuka! hey! ” with all his might he crashes into her, almost knocking her clean off her feet. had it not been for the fact that he was hugging her in the process she may have really gotten hurt. but he would never let that happen; not even on accident.
“ i’m so glad to see you’re okay! you are okay, right? any scratches? d-did you get bitten? anyone try to hurt you? what about these monsters? i-- ”
space. give her space.
he pulls her away at arms length, fingers gently digging into her arms to keep her steady. there’s an awkward pause between them both, legosi’s tail still wagging furiously behind him all the while. he didn’t want to take his eyes off of her.
not even for one second.
“ um. . . ”
