      the  synthetic  pokemon  doesn’t  flinch  or  retreat  back  as  the  stranger  hesitantly  reaches  out  their  hand  in  an  attempt  to  touch  him.   why,  Mewtwo  isn’t  certain,  but  it  hardly  matters.

      although  one  might  interpret  his  lack  of  movement  as  consent,  the  expression  on  the  psychic’s  face  reveals  it  is  anything  but :  something  akin  to  a  challenge  spoken  through  the  intense  glare  of  those  cat-like  amethysts,  and  the  downward  curve  of  a  disapproving  frown  making  his  displeasure  known.

      but  still,  even  as  the  hand  nears,  Mewtwo  doesn’t  move ;  to  shrink  away  from  anything  was  tantamount  to  weakness,  and  conveyed  fear.   in  truth,  his  existence  did  not  allow  him  to  live  a  moment  without  fear,  but  Arceus  be  damned  if  he  was  going  to  let  it  dictate  his  every  act  or  thought.

      instead,  the  experiment  settles  for  a  thinly-veiled  warning  echoed  in  the  other’s  skull.
