📖 - a story concept involving Daisy and Trip! :O
okay so like, this is basically known as THE FIX IT FIC
so, the multiverse is a thing in marvel now (and I thought of this before endgame)
so in MCU universe Daisy lost Trip, but in another one Trip lost Daisy
he’s not inhuman but he survived, it’s a bit of a mess in Trip’s universe, without Daisy/Quake the Watchdogs have come out of hiding and have taken over, and after HYDRA fell they took over
Trip is investigating and there’s an explosion but instead of being blasted into pieces he ends up in the universe where Daisy is alive but he is dead
the explosion also happened on Daisy’s side, but she wasn’t there when it happened, it’s Mack instead
Mack assumes that Trip is either some LED or an inhuman that has a mimic ability and he brings Trip in
because Trip was his friend too, he’s emotional about it but honestly, Mack would have a good clear head about it (for the most part, Elena helps)
Mack knows that Daisy has always blamed herself for what happened to Trip so she isn’t clued in right away, she’s across the world being a beautiful badass anyways
Jemma examines Trip, it’s an exact DNA match and Trip explains how in his world things are different
a lot more dead friends and Trip just smiles THAT SMILE every time he sees that a friend is alive
Daisy is brought in, they tell her that a different version of Trip is alive and well, they don’t leave it to be a surprise so she can prepare herself
it all falls away, there’s a hug, tears are shed, it's beautiful
at this point in the story, Daisy has fully developed the secret warriors
she has a team, its Mack, Elena, Joey, occasionally Lincoln and Robbie, and Daisy asks Trip to join
“I could use a pilot on my team”
Trip agrees and they get to go ON MISSIONS
and they have the death discussion
it’s a lot for both of them, it's emotional and they yell at each other for being sacrificial idiots
“were we - did you and the version of me ever become something more?”
“no, but I think it could have lead to something more”
HOPEFULL GLANCES
tentative “secret” dates that aren’t secret at all lmfao
they’re kind of protective of the other at first but they relax when the constant fear of the other person suddenly not being there becomes real
at some point, there’s a chance for Trip to go back to his universe
and it’s a mess because his family is there, but Daisy is here
Daisy doesn’t have anything in that universe
it's one of those cheesy moments where they say goodbye, and Daisy is trying not to cry, but she does and she looks away from the bright light of the teleporter, so she doesn’t see Trip standing there still, a smile on his face and tears in his eyes
“C’mon girl, you thought I could ever live without you”
