The story is actually getting to the meat of the plot. I’m having a lot of fun with it now. As always, the story/characters are taking on a life of their own, and it’s good to have that again.

Things feel like they’re back to normal today, even if I’m still a little bummed about this week’s Mando (see my rant called Mando ep 13 if you want to know more). Still, my own personal branch of the Mando Universe (I’m going to call it Jobs-verse) is ticking along. Almost 2K words in #10 as of tonight. I’ll post all of #8 when I next post for Mando -- it’s an Interlude meant to cover the overview of a timejump I didn’t want to cover in detail. It’s only 2.2k, but the #9 is a full Job and will be in four parts. Not sure when I’m posting #8 -- Tuesday, maybe? Depends on what it looks like when I do a read-through again tonight. I may need to edit some things in or out, and that may delay it.

That said, i’ll definitely start posting for Dincember on time, which is not set in the Job-verse. It allowed me to play with a different Mando, which was fun. While Dincember is just a list of prompts and the date to post them, I made each of the prompts a part of a greater story. On Monday, you’ll see what I mean. If you want to read my Dincember stuff but don’t want to see anyone else’s (I don’t know why, but I’m willing to believe its possible), then follow the #deprough does dincember tag. So I’ll post Dincember here and on AO3, and I’m going to be very careful with trigger warnings and tags. If I miss one PLEASE tell me. I’d feel terrible if something I made caused someone else pain -- not the, “oh, the delicious angst of this story” but actual “I just had a panic attack” pain. I promise, I’m a safe person, I won’t ask why or challenge. I’ll just try to do better and learn. And apologize. 

The quote if from Jobs-verse #10, and I technically wrote it yesterday, but I feel like it is a really good paragraph, and I wanted to share.

I wrote a little, crocheted a little, ate too much cake... standard birthday fare. I’ve been thinking about writing non-fanfiction again. The good news is I have about three projects I could work on. If you guessed that I have three projects to choose from, you’d be right.

Today was shopping day, and by the time I was done with that, fascists and racists had tried to take over my capital. I spent today balancing between watching the news (an unusual activity for me) and taking care of my mental health by crocheting and watch the new Expanse (a usual activity for me). So I didn’t write at all today, and that’s okay. Some days, the world is on fire, and you’re allowed to not wrestle words out of your head.

Though they’re trying to beat me down and grind my soul into nothing. But I’m still here.

Today, I thought I was working on Prince of Alderaan, only to realize that it was Jobs’ turn. So I worked on Jobs 10 today, despite having mentally prepped for Prince. Thankfully, I know where Jobs is going, just a matter of getting my brain to turn those plans into coherant. words. I was able to today, so yay!

I don’t have a long message tonight, other than I was working on the Side Jobs project today, so that’s what my quote is from. I’m just stoked that I’m actually writing semi-regularly again. 

Hey, I wrote again today, which was surprising because I got some new yarn today, too, and lately my brain has been “Crochet easy! Writing hard! (though not the writing where I ruminate on scenes over and over, the part where I try to take those out of my head and put them in a story in a coherant manner). Given that my Sundays are usually 100% leisure, my brain usually defaults to crocheting all day. Not today, thank the force!

Also I may have planned out four stories for a short series set in the Jobs-verse that focuses on secondary characters in the story. So my brain won’t stop making things it wants me to write while also making it harder to actually write. sigh
