I read Daggerspell by Katharine Kerr a few months ago, and it was kind of a wild ride.
If I'm being completely honest, I would not recommend this one if you are a newbie to fantasy. It's an easy read, so to speak, but there are some old-school fantasy themes that do not read well with a modern lens, and it can get unexpectedly dark especially with the almost optimistic tone that it's written in.
That being said, I went ahead and bought the next 3 books in the series because as a fantasy veteran, I had an absolute blast with this one. I'd like to draw more of the characters when I continue the series.

Day 31: Read this month
I didn’t read that many books this month as I was concentrating on reading classics, adult fiction and big books which take me a while to read. I read six books this month. One of these was Daggerspell by Katherine Kerr, the start of the classic high fantasy series, Deverry. This book is a bit dated and the writing style is a bit hard to get into. I think the world building makes up for it however and I really enjoyed reading it for the most part.

Just finished reading Katherine Kerr's Daggerspell and thought it would be fun to draw how I've been imagining the main heroine this whole time! Jill's outfit was inspired by Snow White in OUAT 🤗
I enjoyed this book so much!! It's so underrated
