What kind of award would you like?
butts.
Also, I'm curious how you're familiar with all the computer science stuff. I understand that it's normal for people who are writers to pick up things - but you seem pretty knowledgeable about the computery things, or at least familiar with the jargon - and I'm wondering if you've taken this as a formal course of study. (I want also to mention that it gives me a 'lady-boner', but that's vulgar and neither here nor there. But I admire how you write computer-stuff.)
/b/ —> /v/ —> /g/!
I hATE HATE HATE HATE HATE school probably because ADHD and I would never for an instant take a course in anything I enjoy as a hobby (writing, computers, etc.).
Emulation is the reason why I’ve picked up what I have! I used to spend a lot of time escaping into my old childhood favorites, starting with Gameboy games and working up through N64 and PSX and, eventually, after I’d gained enough levels to build my own machine, PS2 via PCSX2 (and then Ico and Shadow of the Colossus were promptly released in a combo pack for the PS3, and I was like “Oh…welp.”)
So, in order to tool around w/ vidya, I had to learn a lot of things! And I’m cross-discipline because I have a similar degree of interest in sciencey bio stuff—kindled in part by the Creatures series of games, which also instilled a long-lasting appreciation of A.I. and neurophysiology—which formal education has somehow not managed to entirely stamp out of me. :P
Thank you for enjoying the computer things! I HAVE read Upgrading & Repairing PCs - 3rd Edition cover to cover, because I found an old copy at the dump once, but I’ve only gotten halfway through the 19th edition that actually applies to the current tech my own rig’s based on (that tome is sitting patiently on top of Moby Dick, lol). But most of my knowledge is /g/-based, from eavesdropping on nerds ripping into one another’s opinions about things. I’m glad it doesn’t look too slipshod or taped-together, to a reader. x)
also ladyboners are ALWAYS appropriate conversational interjections so far as I’m concerned, lol u ain’t seen me in a roachstream yet
@daftyank (jeez I don't have a good name to call you wow I feel horrible)
I'm still doing the dumb thing by posting my HS art here instead of the other blog but I'm still conflicted about how I want to run things, ahaha
