Runaan! Might I say Ethari is quite the catch! Your husband and you were pretty amazing for taking little Rayla in! What was the wedding like and when did you know he was the one?
You’re very kind. But there was no question that we would step up and help our friends when they needed us. I know i speak of needing to be hard enough to do whatever it takes, but I’m very pleased that, in this instance, I was soft enough to do what was needed, too.
Our wedding was a full Moon wedding. It wasn’t as big as some full Moon weddings can be, thankfully. Ethari had mercy and only invited half of Xadia.
When did I know Ethari was the one? I’ve known it with every breath I’ve taken in the last dozen years. But I suppose one of the very first moments I realized it was when he built a tiny ballista to launch a whole bouquet’s worth of daffodiles at me. They’re like snapdragons, but with more teeth. He was trying to surprise me without getting stabbed--always a concern around assassins, but he was brave and determined. One of the flowers got its teeth caught in my braid, and instead of trying to pull it out, I wore it--and the softest smile ever--for the rest of the day.
