Daddy issues and defining you
Just point blank my dad sucks. He's lied about gifts he's sent , made promises that he couldn't keep, insulated my mom, never blames him self for anything that has happened and acts vary childish. I don't know much about him, since we moved away when I was vary young. What I do remember is crying every time he said he would visit and never show up, crying when he asked if I got my present in the mail .... when he never sent anything. I felt awful, I felt like I didn't matter and he couldn't be bothered to see me or treat me like someone who was important or dear to him. There is one thing I did learn from my dad .... I never want to do any of that to someone I love. I will never purposely make someone feel invaluable, unwanted or un important. I will try to make my family feel appreciated and keep my promises that I make. Just because one or both of your parents or any loved ones set a bad example and made you feel horrible dose not mean you have to act and behave like that. Just because someone teaches you something dose not mean it's right or the only way. You know who you are, don't let one person define who you are and what you believe. 👄
