-ranted and swore down the phone to my mom this morning about a tense email from one of our sweetest and most conflict-averse employees confessing that, vaccine notwithstanding, she still is afraid to come back into the office as we’re supposed to be doing next week. oh grr grr how inconvenient for him. how generous that he’s still planning on our keeping the doors locked most of the time and requiring the occasional client to be masked if they come in for appointments. he’s out here calling her stupid for having a very reasonable response to the last year of uncertainty and emotional trauma. not that he would call it that. not that he would give it as accurate a term as that. 

-is on the phone as I type discussing whether he could justify cutting her pay should she exercise her right to remain working remotely, since she’s “not doing her whole job”

-knows full well that this woman’s father died a couple months ago and is not factoring in that additional trauma on top of the general crap state of the world for, again, the last year

-has casually repeated faux noos-type talking points, as recently as last week, about how trans people shouldn’t be allowed to play sports as their true gender (but he “doesn’t mind” if they want to “dress up”) 

-every time I think I’m safe and I might reveal myself another reminder shows up like this that he’s not as safe or supportive a person as I hope he’d be
