I finally had the time to work on my Bail fic again!
So have a little read
Bright white lights had led them down a sterile hallway. Wall panels cut into the monotone white wallpaper and Fox had done his best not to notice them, not to acknowledge their presence in the first place. His polished boots echoed, spreading their imaginary filth across the speckled flooring. He hadnât wanted to come and yet he was here. Memories filled his mind, of dark days in the Facility, of the rare clear sky his siblings had looked forward to only to be disappointed when it didnât give them the rush of serotonin they had hoped for. Their Trainers had moaned about the constant raining, the dark cloudy sky- just to groan about headaches and too bright light once the sun shone. The CC class had learned early on that bright sunshine wasnât always the best. The Alphas had warned them, preparing them for the disappointment and thusâŚthey had to watch each new CT generation learn on their own as they didnât have Alphas to warn them. SometimesâŚsometimes Light wasnât as good as everyone made it out to be. And in this case it only brought back memories Fox would have liked to forget. Forever. Sitting in a quite big hospital room, Fox made his rounds around- going from one group of brothers to the next. Ten of his brothers who were somewhat familiar with TwiâLeki had volunteered to join Bail and him in this visit but Fox had hesitated. He had warned the CTs, told them what a hospital looked like from the inside and yet they insisted. Reasoning that the children they had saved needed to see familiar faces they associated with safety and Fox couldnât disagree. Pride had warmed his chest but with each minute they all stayed in this building, the more he noticed the fidgeting, the countless looks over their shoulders. Of course they pretended, played a role of older brothers by sneaking them candy they had kept stored in the barracks just for them to have a âsecretâ with the children. And the children? They loved it. They giggled quietly while stuffing their faces with the candy, falling right into the harmless acts of childhood rebellion. Even if it was just candy. And thus, Fox walked from one group to the next, giving his own sense of safety to his brothers. He would make sure that no Kaminii nor any Trainer would burst through the door and punish them.
