To say the least, your life has never been boring. You travelled a lot when you were younger, you met so many people and made awesome memories. Jensen had you at a young age, before meeting Danneel, and due to this fact, he would often bring you on set, so someone would look after you while he was doing his job, and when you used to be younger, you loved that. You loved discovering all those little things behind the scenes. You loved everything about it, and it made you even closer to your dad.
But growing up, it changed. Your dad wouldnât bring you on set anymore as you would go to school, you wouldnât see him everyday anymore and it was truly hard, but on the other side, you had Danneel, than JJ came along and so did Zeppelin and Arrow a few years later. And as much as you loved them, you were jealous of how much time they would get to spend with Jensen as you would be left behind, at least, thatâs how you felt like.
You felt abandoned by your dad, and it was a huge issue for you as you always feared abandonment even when you were a little kid. You never met your mom as she didnât want you and all these years, it stuck with you, you felt as you werenât good enough, and now, you were feeling like it more than ever.
Thatâs why you started to push your family away, you wouldnât even try to spend more time with your dad anymore, of course you would still help Danneel with the kids because you knew how hard it was to raise three young children when Jensen was on set. But you started to decline when she would suggest that you two would get some time alone to go shopping or just have a girlâs day. You just closed yourself to others so you wouldnât suffer anymore.
You were mostly adult by now and you felt like if you would leave the parents house it would be better, not for you, but for them. Thatâs why you started to look out for a job, you didnât want to depend on your dadâs money and wanted to start having your own money and you found a little job, it wasnât paying that much, but to start in the working life it was a good start. You didnât even knew how, but you got the job of a waitress in a roadside restaurant.
Jensen was clueless about what you were doing when you werenât at home, you didnât really tell Danneel neither, but you didnât lie to her, you just told her that you found something that was occupying your life.
Your dad arrived home three days ago, and you didnât even talk to him besides a simple â good morning â, not as if he tried to talk with you neither. You didnât work this morning, you only were starting at 5pm today, which let you stay home for a good amount of time today.
Danneel was bathing Arrow and Zeppelin with Jensenâs help, you didnât know why, but you felt like helping today. You started to make the breakfast for everyone until someone pulled on your leg, you smiled softly seeing it was JJ, you hugged her and lifted her up in your arms as you put her on the couch to watch some cartoons on tv while you were finishing the breakfast.Â
You set everything on the table and sat next to JJ on the couch. While she was watching her favorite cartoons you went on your laptop and continued your research to find a small apartment you could buy, or at least rent.
â Hey kiddosâ said your dad as he walked in, smiling.
â Morning daddy!â cheerfully said JJ as she got up to hug your dad.
As JJ was hugging Jensen, Danneel arrived followed by Arrow and Zeppelin who dressed up. Danneel smiled seeing that you made the breakfast.
â Thank you, honey.â said Danneel as she gently kissed your cheek. You simply nodded and let your family take place for breakfast.
â Câmon Y/N, let your laptop and come eat with us.â told you your dad, seeing that you didnât move from the couch.
â I already ate when I was making the breakfast.â you explained, not taking your eyes off your laptop.
â But you still can come sit with us at least.â insisted your dad, you rolled your eyes and did what he wanted, you came to the table and sat with them.
â So, what are your plans for today? â asked Danneel as she was eating her breakfast.
â I have no idea, Iâm just going to stay home I think. â you simply replied, looking at the wall in front of you.
â Weâll go to the park later, you could come with us? â suggested Danneel, it had been a while since you went to the park with them.
â I donât feel like coming, sorry. â you replied, and you could see that she was a bit disappointed by your answer.
â Whatâs up with you these days? â asked your dad out of nowhere, he seemed annoyed by your answer.
â What?â
â You never want to come anywhere with us, whatâs wrong with you? â he asked, but it was mostly a statement.
â Iâm just not a child anymore.â you replied, colder that you intended to.
â Maybe, but it doesnât matter. Iâm not always home, and for once that Iâm here, youâre doing everything to not spend time with us!â he declared, you were surprised that he even noticed it.
â Iâm surprised you even noticed.â you bitterly replied, brutally getting up and leaving for your room.
It had been a hour or so since your argument with your dad, you didnât left your room and you regretted that you forgot your laptop in the living room, they probably saw that you were planning on leaving by now.
You heard a soft knock on your door, you already knew it was Danneel. You let a â come in â as you sat on your bed. She entered a small smile on her lips and your closed laptop in her hands, she put it on your desk and sat next to you.
â So, youâre planning on leaving us? â she questioned, sadness in her voice. You felt your heart tightening at her voice.
â I am. I found a job a few months ago, and Iâve been saving money since then.â you revealed, you could see that she was hurt by your revelation.
â Arenât you happy with us? â she asked, her question hits you right where it hurts.
â I was, but Iâm not anymore. Itâs not because of you or the kids, though. Itâs just that itâs not like it used to be, I feel like Iâm non-existent to dad.â you confessed, allowing a single tear to escape.
â I know that heâs prioritizing JJ and the twins over you, I noticed it, and Iâm sorry. But I promise that I love you as my own and you are a part of this family. Iâll talk to Jensen about it.â stated Danneel as she gently put her hand on your shoulder, she didnât want you to leave, but your decision was made.
â Donât. Please. I made my decision. I wonât live far away, Iâll be there as soon as you need me but I need to leave.â you insisted, Danneel hesitantly nodded, if it was your choice than she had to respect it.
â If itâs your choice, then alright. But youâll have to convince Jensen. Heâs waiting in the living room and to say the least, heâs mad.â warned you Danneel, you excepted this reaction already.
â Thatâs fine, tell him to come.â you said and she did so.
Your heart was racing, you didnât know how it was going to go, but you knew that your dad wasnât going to let you live on your own like you wanted to.
â So, you want to leave us, uh?â you could hear the disappointment and anger in his voice.
â I do.â was your only reply.
â Why?â
â Iâm old enough and I believe itâs for the best. Iâve been thinking about it for a year at least.â you explained, as Jensen was pacing back and forth in your room.
â And with which money youâre going to rent an apartment? Iâm not going to pay you one.â he bitterly said, you didnât except him to pay it for you.
â I have a job, and I do since a few months. Iâve been saving money for it.â you justified, Jensen was hurt by all these things you didnât tell him.
â What did we do to make you leave?â
â Nothing, thatâs the problem. You did nothing. I feel like I doesnât exist for you anymore, you always care about JJ, Zeppelin and Arrow, but you never care about me.â you sadly said, trying to look strong in front of him.
â I donât care about you? And all these things you have! Your clothes, your laptop, video games, books. You got them because I bought them.â he snapped, he couldnât believe what you just said.
â I know that, but I didnât ask for half of them! All I wanted was to hear a â how your day was?â or a simple â If you need to talk, Iâm here.â but you never said those things. I just feel like Iâm a burden to you.â you spat, finally letting everything out after all those years.
â Then, maybe you are.â he angrily replied, even though he didnât think a word of it.
And it hurt you, it hurt you more than anything. It felt like being stabbed right in the heart. You nodded, speechless, grabbed your jacket and bag and left without saying a single word.
â I fucked up, didnât I? â asked Jensen as Danneel came into your room after hearing the heated argument you just had with him.
â You did, Jay. Sheâs not going to forgive you.â acknowledged Danneel, and she would understand that you couldnât forgive him, his words were so harsh towards you.
â I know. I just- Itâs so hard to see her all grown up. I missed so much of her life these past years.â
â And you ruined the little hope she had, if she had any left.â added Danneel.
It had been a hour or so since you started your shift, everything was going smoothly, there were a lot of clients today, which was good for you. You were doing your best and were focused to try to forget about what happened today.
Danneel and Jensen were watching the news as JJ, Arrow and Zeppelin were calmly playing. They didnât really paid attention to what the tv was saying until they heard the news that would change their life forever.
â Breaking news; a robbery is underwayin a restaurant. The assaillant reportedly fired several times and would now be retrenched with hostagesâ. At least two people were killed and three badly injuried.â
Danneel frowned, she remembered that you told her that you were working for a roadside restaurant, and since it was in your city, she started to worry.
â Call Y/N.â said Danneel to her husband, worried .
â What? Why? I donât think sheâll answer.â
â I think sheâs where the shooting is.â explained Danneel.
Jensen didnât think twice, he grabbed his phone and dialed your number, praying that you would answer. But you didnât. Your dad started to panic and tried to call again, this time, you answered.
â Y/N? Are you okay? Please, tell me youâre safe.â begged your dad, panic in his voice, and you, you wished you were safe.
â Iâm scared, dad. â you whispered, your voice trembling.
â Where are you? â he asked, as he held on Danneelâs hand.
â Iâm hiding. There are dead people and wounded people, dad. Theyâre dying. â you silently cried, shaking.
â But are you injuried? Did you get shot? â he knew how selfish he was at the moment, but your dad didnât care, all he wanted at the moment was his little girl to be safe.
â Iâm fine. If I donât make it out of here alive, I want you to know that Iâm sorry for everything I said. â you confessed, you had to make sure he knew that you didnât mean all the things you said.
â Donât- â
Jensen didnât get to finish his sentence as you ended the call. The following seconds, they heard shot getting fired into the restaurant and the S.W.A.T broke in right after.
Danneel was crying, a hand on her mouth, trying not to scream, while Jensen couldnât move. What if the last thing he said to you was that you were a burden to him?

@lizwinchester16Â Here ya go! Also! This is season 2 Jensen in the beginning! Leave comments, or inbox me for requests!Â
âI just canât do this anymore!â You cried. âIâm sorry Jensen, but I canât.â You looked up seeing the tears welled in his green eyes. You bit your lip knowing you had to be strong. This was incredibly hard for you, but with him constantly gone in Vancouver was hard and strenuous. You got to see your friends going on dates, having couples game nights and all you had was season 1 reruns of Supernatural.
âPlease Y/N donât do this.â He spoke voice rough.
i am in love with american sweetheart and I'm super excited for the next part!! also i just saw that you're always accepting prompts and I'm in desperate need of a pretty babysitter jared pining for single dad jensen, I hope this inspires you if u ever have time :))
It wasnât that Jensen hadnât noticed Jaredâbecause he had and perhaps, more than he shouldâve.
He had seen the way that Jared would look up at him through long eyelashes that fluttered like butterfly wings, flashing glimpses of his kaleidoscope gaze and the way in which the younger boy would bite his lower lip, turning the skin to a cherry red and Jared would look at Jensen as if hanging on every word he said. He had seen the way in which Jaredâs body seemed to migrate towards his as if seeking warmthâalways wanting to be close. He had felt the way that Jared would touch himâseemingly innocent at first; a light touch there on the arm, a playful push to his chest, fingers brushing against his neck that worked to correct the collar of his work shirt and his tie.
The touches had become less innocent over time and so had the looks Jared would give him. Jensen supposed the innocence seemed to fade the night that he and Danneel had gotten into the fightâthe one that had led to their divorce. What was once a look of pure curiosity and open expression, soon turned to one of smoky blue and glimmering green with want. Hands that used to touch him in seemingly innocent ways, now lingered against his arms and chest and handsâthe intentions of the younger boyâs touches quite clear.
Jensen shouldâve seen it soonerâthe way in which Jared seemed to linger when he and Danneel would fight and the snide glimmer in his eyes when Danneel would storm out of the house, leaving Jared and Jensen alone with his child. He shouldâve seen it the night Jensen had come home late from the office to see Jared and JJ snuggled up on the bed togetherâJared laying in Danneelâs abandoned spot.
And it was the exact same scene that Jensen had seen before when he got home from work that night. Jensen stood beside Danneelâs side of the bed, Jared curled onto his side with JJ sleeping in his armsâalmost the same way Danneel used to sleep with their child. Fluttering eyelashes were closed, and cherry red lips were slightly parted as Jaredâs chest rose and fell with each soft breath. His chestnut hair draped across his forehead, falling into his eyes and merging with his eyelashes.
Jensen didnât know why, but he reached out, brushing the hair away from Jaredâs eyes, his fingertips ghosting across the younger boyâs skin. Jensen yanked his hand away suddenly as if Jaredâs skin had burned him the moment his eyes fluttered open, turning sleep hazed eyes up at him and a sleepy smile tugged at the corner of Jaredâs mouth.
âHow was work?â Jared asked quietly, his voice rough from sleep.
âFine,â replied Jensen thickly as he stepped away from the bed to walk towards the bathroom adjacent to the master bedroom.
Jensen stood in front of the mirror, undoing his tie and his fingers shook mercilessly, making it more difficult than it shouldâve been to remove it. He had been so caught up in his task at hand, that he did not hear the shuffle of feet behind him as Jared came closer. He did feel hands caress his shoulder blades and Jensen turned to face Jared. The babysitter gazed up at him with a vixen twinkle in his eyes and a mischievous smile on his lips.
âLet me help you,â Jared said with a purr, already reaching his hands up to Jensenâs tie.
Jensen remained quiet as Jaredâs fingers worked nimbly to free the tie from the knot and as Jensen watched the younger boy work, something inside of him shiftedâperhaps seeking companionship from losing his wifeâsâand Jensen moved forward to press his lips against Jaredâs. His mouth was softer than Danneelâs had ever been, but they were not as sweet as he wouldâve thought they would beâinstead they tasted of meticulous lies.
