has a 3 year old daughter who looks exactly like him, no one would even doubt it

had a whole mental breakdown when he found out that his daughter came out of the womb a month early

never left her side since birth, literally

cried with his daughter when she got her first set of shots.. and the next set, and the next, and–

“aigoo, look at you. you’re daddy’s twin!”

writes lengthy paragraphs about her “firsts”

like, 2 pages long jesus christ

smiles like an idiot every time he looks at her

but cries a lot, too

because after everything he’s gone through in the past couple of years, his daughter kept him going

takes pictures of everything, and–

takes videos of her with an actual video camera from the stone age

“I hope you’re not allergic to cats”

ohp

his whole world crumbled after finding out that she is, in fact, allergic to cats

does the unthinkable

“am I really doing this?”

cat proofs the whole damn house right after he takes his fur babies to his parents’ house after a whole night of convincing them to turn his old bedroom into his cats permanent home

ends up taking his baby back to his room and in her crib every night, or

he ends up sleeping on the couch in her room

definitely sings her a lullaby (hehe)

bath time for baby is always a mess because he still can’t get the right water temperature

kisses his daughter a million times to apologize for bath time

“you hate water? ok. daddy hates water too”

has a YSL changing mat for his child

as she should

takes his little girl with him to work when mama lim can’t watch over her precious grandchild

has a separate room for her at his studio because god knows how anxious he gets when he can’t see or hear his child

wears a ring with her name engraved onto it

hasn’t been on dates ever since his little girl came into this world

“sorry guys, daddy duties”

tells everyone that dating isn’t for him, and that they’re perfectly fine as a family of 2

but deep down, he blames himself for not giving his little girl a complete family

like “what would life be if you had a mom”

panics a lot whenever his daughter has a fever because he can’t stand the sight of his daughter suffering

rushes to her pediatrician’s clinic every single time she coughs

even just one cough

but then–

jaebeom’s daughter gets really sick, continuous coughing and the poor child starts to bawl her eyes out

so daddy takes her to the hospital

in emergency, for the very first time

and that’s where he meets you

“please, please look after my daughter. she’s only 3 years old, please”

you immediately check her vitals, making sure that she’s given proper attention because you are a nurse before anything else and taking care of her is your job

doctors rush in to check on her and evaluate the symptoms

after a few blood tests here and there, which of course, came with a lot of crying and squirming

“bad needle,” jaebeom kisses his daughter’s tears away

the doctors finally inform jaebeom that his daughter has asthma, and tells him that they might have to keep her in for a few more days to check on her

and guess what–

you’re the assigned nurse to keep a close eye on jaebeom’s little princess

you end up connecting with her surprisingly well, and of course, jaebeom sees that

so he watches you without you knowing

but you do the same because duh

“who’s a brave girl? who?” you chant every single time she gets her blood drawn, or if you have to give her her meds

“me!” she screams, super adorable

“dada, wook at me!”

that’s it

your uterus is literally yelling at you

“wow! good job, baby!” jaebeom’s very much overjoyed to see his child grow into a brave girl

“and good job, nurse,” he squeezes your shoulder gently, his eye smile definitely doing things to you

and boy, were you trapped

“dada wike nos!” jaebeom’s daughter squeals, butchering the word “nurse” but you didn’t care, she was cute and she made you so happy

both jaebeom and yourself blushed at the 3 year old’s honest comment

and that’s how it all began

days after his daughter got discharged, jaebeom finally asked for your number

“just in case I need to ask questions about what I need to do when she gets an asthma attack”

slowly but surely, you guys bonded as friends

meeting at cafes, or the library since both of you enjoyed reading

jaebeom casually invites you over to his place, mostly to watch his little girl together, and you didn’t mind it one bit

but also to get to know you even more

every little achievement of hers, from her first day at her new nursery, to her first voice lesson, to her first baby yoga session

and, eventually, you two become lovers

moving in with him and your little girl

doing everything with her

because in your eyes, she was yours

his daughter loves you more than you could ever imagine

but you love her and her father even more than you could ever begin to grasp

“I hope you accept me. her. us.”

“jaebeom, you two are my family.”

and so after a few years of dating

jaebeom finally asks you to marry him

not at all extravagant

just you two, in bed, right after you wake up

the perfect morning

and of course, you say yes

but it’s what you did, that surprised him more

asking him if you could be her “real” mom even on paper

jaebeom cries

you could taste his tears when you kissed but that didn’t even matter anymore

“thank you for coming into our lives”

“no jaebeom, thank you for coming into mine”

both of you cry hard, giggling as you wait for your daughter to wake up from her sleep

and jaebeom looks at you with so much love

as you carry your little girl to the tub because guess who pooped her pants!

she did

but you two kinda almost did after officially getting engaged at like, 8am lol

but–

he watches you and your daughter, splashing water at each other because bath time meant fun time for her ever since you came

but also for jaebeom, *wink wink*

and he laughs, like the happiest man on earth

because he is

and because finally, the bath water won’t make his little girl cry anymore
