The Summer’s End Banquet has come to a close, but the drama doesn’t need to end there! While we ask that you begin to wrap up your threads, you may continue them over the next few days to finish them off. You are now free to post non-event starters and continue your threads from before the event! Thank you to everyone who participated in the event, we hope that you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

It was determined by the royal physician that the nobleman from Ryhule died of natural causes, although rumors of poison and assassins lurking in the night are still swirling around court. His body has been returned to the Ryhulian contingent for repatriation. 

Tensions are still high in the court, and a contingent of soldiers that arrived to provide additional security for the banquet has been asked to stay on for a time, until things are less uncertain. The Oscanan navy is still on alert, in case Ryhule decides to retaliate.

So far, the Summers’ End festivities have gone off without a hitch. Royals, nobles and commoners alike spent the day enjoying the spruced up gardens and the evening dancing to the lively music in the banquet hall. The heat of summer seems to be of no concern as the night presses on. With such a grand feast and never-ending glasses of wine, it is easy to let loose and put aside the troubling political matters for one night. Some guests believe that bonding over the celebration will bring Ryhule’s ambassadors and Oscana’s future queen and advisors to a new trade deal sooner rather than later. 

All of that goodwill is about to come crashing down. A servant bursts into the banquet hall to tell the guards on duty that a body has been found. It takes little time to identify the deceased as a Ryhule noble who was strongly in favor of a treaty between his country and Oscana. Now, the air is alive with whispered conjecture, and the lively songs the minstrels are playing sound slightly sinister. While it appears that the noble died of natural causes, party-goers aren’t so certain. Could there be poison in the wine? Is there a killer on the loose? Is anyone from Ryhule truly safe inside Oscana’s castle walls? 

All The Queen’s Ladies

Muse A has been the crown princess’ best friend for as long as she can remember. Her family has always been close to the royal family, and they grew up together, sharing secrets and schemes with one another. Her loyalty is beyond question, and because of that loyalty she has always been favored at court. She is also one of the few who can speak her mind freely to the soon-to-be-queen, even when she knows the princess may not like what she has to say.

Muse B is new to the court, and a determined social climber. They are charming and witty, and everyone seems to love them. They have made their way into the crown princess’ inner circle and quickly ingratiated themselves to her. Eloquent and well-spoken, they have a way getting others to see things their way, even if they may ordinarily have disagreed, and this individual has quickly become one of the future queen’s close confidants.

The Prank War

Muse A is from an old, prominent military family of Ryhule. For generations, their parents and grandparents have fought against Oscana, and they carry that deep-seated hatred with them everyday. They came to the court of Oscana as part of the Crown Prince’s guard, and have made no secret their disdain for the whole court.

Muse B is a servant who has been assigned to attend to the needs of the Crown Prince’s delegation, including Muse A. They’ve worked for the royal family of Oscana their whole lives, and have always been treated well by them, so they take great pride in their work and position.
