Okay so I have to ask. This isn’t any type of hate. I genuinely want to understand. So I just saw your fic about Andy Barber being your best friend‘s husband. And I just had to stop and think.. Why is that someone’s fantasy? You as a writer, why is a story about fucking your best friends husband something you wanted to write. That’s so weird. And for readers as well, my question to them is why is that something you want to read? ( I know it’s clearly a fake scenario and false reality) but why is that a reality you even want to picture yourself in? FUCKING ur best friends husband?
It's not a fantasy for me.
It's my deepest fear to be in the position of that best friend, and writing about it, particularly from the perspective of the person who betrayed it, makes me feel in control and it helps with the healing of a trauma that is very deep within me.
I'd also like to point out that in that story specifically, it's not a fantasy for the reader either. She admits that Andy's hot but she never even considered being with him in any way until he forced her.
As for my readers, there are a thousand reasons why they would want to read it, most not even related to fantasizing about the situation. They could read it because they enjoy my writing, for one. But I'd also like to point out that just because I write about something even in the context of sex in general, it doesn't mean that I fantasize about it and would like to live it. Non-con is something I obviously would not want to engage in, and a lot of people write and enjoy reading about it. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that most of what I read and write is not a reality I'd like to picture myself in.
And even if it is the object of someone's desires, I don't see the problem in dealing with it through the means that would not hurt anyone in the process: reading and writing about it. A lot of people have some sort of cuckolding kink, for example, and their partners don't want to engage in that or they're too scared to do it. I think my story would fulfill their desire in one way or another, without having to betray anyone's trust while doing it.
I hope this answers your question, but if this really was intended as genuine curiosity, there was no need to say that this is weird, and in bold letters nonetheless. I try to keep my space as free of kinkshaming as possible and this just made it look like you came here to pass judgment. As I don't believe neither me nor my readers are hurting you by writing and reading about this theme, I don't believe we deserve said judgment either.
