Do you know if the same logic also applies to sailors of other ships which also used small boats frequently? Eg Grand Banks schooners or similar?
I don’t know! I wouldn’t have any primary sources on hand to point to, but I imagine some did! It’s not my forte—whaling and only whaling here.

I’m curious about your thoughts on short vs long hair - what do you consider short? Because personally my thoughts change a lot depending on whether short is shoulder length, bobbed or cropped! Thanks!
For me, above the shoulder is Short, shoulder-length to chest-length is Medium, beyond that is long.
Obviously styling/maintenance ease depends on other factors like specific length, texture, etc. For example, when I had short hair, it was a chin-length A-line bob of the sort that needs straight hair to look right- and my hair is somewhat wavy (wavier without a lot of weight on it). So I had to heat-style it every time I got it wet, and it was a pain. Someone with stick-straight hair might have found it much easier than I did, though.
And as I've said before long hair that you always wear pinned up might be easier to manage than long hair you always wear loose
Top five desserts?
Brownies, any kind. Unless they have nuts. Cannot abide nutty brownies
Mint chocolate anything. Ice cream, cookies, pie, whatever
Frozen custard. My favorite is vanilla with Oreo, but many different mix-ins are good
Chocolate chip cookies, but soft ones only

It’s way too late but I’m on Tumblr right now anyway so: I’ve got two favourite fics of yours actually. We Could Call it Even is the one that I reread the most - it’s a comfort fic for me, I’ll reread it curled up in bed. It’s got all the classics, I love it very much. Also yeah Jonathan really does deserve better hair. My other favourite is reminds you of innocence because that one is just pure vibes. Like yeah, their lives are forever entwined in a single night. No, they don’t address it for years. And isn’t that what Stoncy truly is?
