I thought the latest word was that they didn’t. Sony had a bomb and they knew it. What better way to get people to pay for and be interested in lousy movie than to get attention with a “hacking” story.

yeah, making money by trivializing the planet's most brutal and longest-lasting totalitarian regime.  I suspect that the Kim regime and Sony were both playing it to their advantage.  So now when Americans think of North Korea, they'll think of a silly, crazy regime that's full of hot air instead of a regime that will not only send you to a concentration camp for even suggesting that the Kim regime is wrong, but then send your children and their children to live their entire lives in a prison camp, as well.  They won't recognize a country whose citizens are on average considerably shorter than their South Korean counterparts because malnutrition and starvation is so widespread there.  They'll just think, ha! Kim Jong-un can't play basketball!
