"If we are talking villain in quotation marks, then I have no empathy, nor compassion." The concept of feeling other person's emotions was alien to her. Perhaps her lack of empathy was why her Observation Haki never picked on people's emotions.
While it certainly limited her battle skills, Emil was glad for this limitation; having the constant murmur of hundreds if not thousands of people in the background she could never turn off was annoying enough. She was aware of all the joyful moments but also of all the brutal ones. Someone was getting stabbed in an alley three blocks away right that moment. A woman had smacked a man with a boom, he hit his head on the table corner and now lay there unconscious and dying. And those were only two examples of many tragedies she had witnessed.
And ignored. The world was a brutal place, but at least she didn't have to feel that.
"But that's a quotation marks villain; lack of empathy doesn't make one a bad person."
"Now, if we are talking an actual villain." She smiled a light and innocent smile that often unsettled people in this conversation context. "I don't care. I'm aware of all the atrocities happening around me and I sometimes go and stop them but that's to battle boredom. I get involved because I'm bored. I don't 'look the other way' as the saying goes because I'm unable to help, or because I'm scared. I ignore all of those because I can't be bothered."
