💥 Dirty Moose Race Report 💥⠀ There was a great turn out for the race. Weather was perfect. It was both an #AMSA and #CXCC West race. @rockymountaindirtriders did an awesome job with this race. It's like they knew they would host the CXCC with custom hand made trophies made from local trees. I was surprised and shocked at how fast I got off the line. The Smartcarb must be helping the starts and it was kind of like a dream how my #KTM #250XC got off the line. I think the clutch was releasing before my thumb was off the starter button. I never had a start like this before. Swipe to check out the video and pay attention to the starter flag vs when the bike launches.⠀ Once I got the holeshot it was up to me to keep the lead and I rode or even over rode the course in a few places. I had some trouble getting past the slower Intermediates again. I think that if they would let faster riders past (like the rules demand) that they would end up with faster times. Just like @travissydor did. He was 2nd in Intermediate and he let me pass when I came up on him. Then about 30 minutes later he went by me and finished strong in 2nd. ⠀ I had to talk to myself the whole time to keep focused. I kept saying to myself "Stand up, get in the @birchynz stance. Chris is doing it ahead of me, you can do it too". I guess that kept me focused.
