stranger things verse: double agent
John Smith's faithful occupation is an officer to the town of Hawkins, though for twelve years he's withheld a secret that only grows day by day. Undercover for more than a decade he's worked as a physician, known to coworkers and patients merely as 'The Doctor, at Hawkins National Laboratory with the duty of caring for the mostly physical, but sometimes mental needs of unfortunate victims of ruthless experiments. Most specifically, a young girl called Eleven, who he's watched grow up since near the day she was born.
John's primary goal is to free Eleven and shut down all future projects of the laboratory. When Will Byers goes missing, his police work to the town lacks effort since his true driven duty belongs with the little girl, causing distrust to arise from his coworkers and friends of Hawkins who can't ever learn the truth he's protected for a dozen years.
