The date and theme for ColdWestAllen Week Spring 2017 have been decided! The week will run from:

Monday, May 8th - Sunday, May 14th

The chosen theme is: 

Seven Deadly Sins/Seven Heavenly Virtues

The beauty of ColdWestAllen has always been the push and pull between virtue and sin. Explore either contrasting value, or take a stab at using both. It’s up to you to explore the good and the bad of human nature, and how that affects their relationship. 

The prompts break down as follows: 

Day One - Lust/Chastity

Be it a porn star AU, a succubus/incubus creature fic, or exploring your favourite virginity headcanon, lust and chastity are fun prompts to run with. Anything rating from General Audiences to Explicit are free to explore. Not comfortable with sex? Try writing about bloodlust or lust for power instead!

Day Two - Pride/Humility

On the one hand, pride in orientation, cultural heritage and personal accomplishments are all positive things, while pride can also speak to being stubborn and closing yourself off from others. Explore humility in the face of great admiration like having a city-wide holiday and a drink named after you. 

Day Three - Gluttony/Temperance

Does Barry’s accelerated metabolism have him eating them out of house and home? Is Iris having strange pregnancy cravings? Has Len given up drinking, or maybe eating sweets? Gluttony and temperance speak to food and drink, but also consider overindulgence and restraint in other areas like Netflix binges or material possession. 

Day Four - Envy/Kindness

Does Len envy Iris for being with Barry? Does Barry envy Len’s confidence and poise? Does Iris show kindness to Len when he’s brought back “to life/to the present” and struggling to find his place? Do they take a teenage runaway into their home? It’s up to you!

Day Five - Sloth/Diligence

The perfect time for lazy mornings in bed, laid back beach vacations, or if you’re really cheeky, visiting sloths at the zoo. Diligence, on the other hand, might mean working together to solve a meta problem, or helping Iris run down a story. 

Day Six - Greed/Charity

Len may seem to go hand in hand with greed, but Iris and Barry can be greedy too -- for time, affection, attention. Maybe try an AU where Barry volunteers at a non-profit, or Iris tracks Len down by investigation a string of suspicious charitable donations. 

Day Seven - Wrath/Patience

Another great opportunity for a creature fic -- werewolves, furies, vengeance demons, you name it! Or explore the repressed anger Barry, Iris, and Len all share from complicated childhoods. Test their patience with long lines at the DMV, ignorant bigots attacking their relationship, or a mischievous toddler who won’t go to bed!

With ColdWestAllen Week officially come to a close, I’d fist and foremost like to thank everyone who had the time and energy to contribute to this event, especially those who carved that time and energy out from their busy lives.
