“Last year you had a scene with him where Melisandre seduced Jon Snow and you were telling me there was a stage direction that was very helpful but was not really in the tone for a Game of Thrones scene.”
“I do this acting thing mostly for myself. I like to make a connection and communicate with the audience to make myself feel less lonely. I also do it to develop my own character, so sometimes I do it to just be away in a certain area that I’ve never been to. But mostly, the story has to do something for me.”

[Who was the funniest person on the set of Game of Thrones?] Liam Cunningham. He’s a total goofball and he drives me nuts sometimes, but we’d done a film together before, so I knew him well enough to tell him to shut up. We have a really good relationship, although we hate each other in the show. He has a great sense of humour, which is really uplifting when you’re filming difficult scenes. Filming days are full on but what was amazing was how professional the set was, it was like stepping into a well-oiled machine. When we were shooting it didn’t really feel like we were filming a hit show.
