MEET AALIYAH!!! She’s not home for good yet, but we did get to have her visit and it was amazing! So there is a lot to say about this little cutie!

First of all the very concerned woman in the background of the first picture is our case worker Elvira :) who as been sooooo helpful and lovely.. and to all you boys out there, single ;).

Second​ of all, there are big reasons for this small girl being up for adoption that we haven’t gotten into yet. Her birth mother was an alcoholic and a drug addict. Her birth father was a drug dealer. She was born a month premature and she lived with her birth parents for almost two years. She was abused by her father and now she has anxiety related to male authority figures. The police were called one day during a party that her parents were throwing and her parents and many of their friends were arrested. She was rescued that day by a kind police officer, Mr. Carson, who she keeps in contact with to this day. When she was rescued she was taken to the hospital and they diognosed her with fetal alcohol syndrome, which occurs when an expectant mother drinks during her pregnancy. This syndrome can affect a person for their entire life, in her case she will always have balance problems, and she has mild hearing loss in both ears which she wears hearing aids for. She also has some developmental delays, physically and mentally. She will always be short and skinny because this disorder can cause stunted growth. She will have a tough life but we will do all that we can to make it as much better as we can :)
