The sponsors had gone too far this time.

The dance routines he'd gone along with, not entirely minding the publicity stunt.  It wasn't the first, and it certainly wasn't the last.  But this was just ridiculous.  They'd been told that fans had asked for them to be paired up for a fight for once, that it'd been done before with Wild Tiger, so why not Barnaby?

Oh how he could kick himself for skipping work that day, even if the reason had been legitimate.  

Now here they stood, surrounded by a less than friendly group of NEXTs, the other heroes nowhere in sight.  They'd been told to keep their distance, that surely the two shining stars could handle themselves.  If there was one thing in their favor, it was the high humidity the evening had granted them.  That creating ice from it would be simple, enough to stun them anyway, until they could launch a more concrete attack.
