Create beautiful and customizable macarons by drawing onto them with edible ink. These delicate French treats are not only visually appealing but also a delightful treat for any occasion.
Ingredients: 2 cups almond flour. 2 cups powdered sugar. 3 large egg whites. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. Edible ink pens assorted colors. Food coloring optional.
Instructions: Turn the oven on to 300 degrees Fahrenheit 150 degrees Celsius and place parchment paper on a baking sheet. Pulverize the powdered sugar and almond flour in a food processor. Pulse until finely chopped and thoroughly combined. Beat the egg whites in a different bowl until frothy, then gradually beat in the granulated sugar. Until stiff peaks form, beat. Till everything is well combined, gently fold the almond flour mixture into the egg white mixture. If desired, add food coloring and vanilla extract, and fold the batter until it takes on the consistency of lava. Spoon the batter into a piping bag fitted with a round tip, and pipe tiny circles, allowing space between them, onto the baking sheet that has been prepared. To smooth out the surface and get rid of air bubbles, tap the baking sheet a few times on the counter. The macarons should be left to sit at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes in order to form a dry shell. The macarons should be baked for 15 to 18 minutes in a preheated oven, or until they remove easily from the parchment paper. Take them out of the oven and leave them on the baking sheet to cool completely. After the macarons cool completely, decorate the flat side of the macarons with your favorite designs or decorations using edible ink pens. When you are ready to sandwich two macaron shells with your preferred filling such as buttercream, ganache, or jam, let the edible ink dry. Present and savor your mouthwatering Macarons with edible ink!
