I look down on people who only read for pleasure. It's whatever, it represents the final step in the shift of the book as a tool of enlightenment to a commodity 'content' to be consumed. Literature as an art has fallen into the hands of economic producers and has become an arm of the spectacle existing to distract the alienated public with safe, unchallenging 'ideas' while their lives are fed to the economy. But it's OK because not reading anything at all is objectively worse; at least the muscle is in use, albeit low effort use.
