im deciding whether to drop money into my engine or save for the subie swap. So i have 2 options
A. Swap cams, new carbs or fuel injection?, and maybe alittle more port work probably around 170whp. also the company that makes the conversion parts for the subie tranny is making a an adapter plate to mate a vw engine to a subie tranny so 5 speed with the current engine :) engine refresh about $1200-1800
B. Subie swap. well its alot more work. custom fab and all that jazz. but possible 300whp+ probably costs around $5k+Â
my car currently weighs around 2000lbs but i can cut it down under 1700 easily. Power to weight isnt much of an issue in this car but im not sure whether to just go all out or keep it somewhat driveable hahaÂ

so ive considered selling my 2165cc and using the money as a downpayment on a new car. Ford fiesta st, 500 abarth or idk what else. something fun, practical and i can eventually tune and fuck around with.
i want to do a subie swap to the bug anyway soooo i think this could be the best option.Â
or sell my bug completely. which would be really sad...i have so many memories with this car but i really need a true daily and an extra couple grand would really help.Â
