Harvested my solitary Cushaw today. This will be stuffed for Thanksgiving
Also time to harvest Butterkins, some of which will be soup this Saturday
Got five here, one I picked last week, and at least another three on the vine. The Butterkins did extremely well and I am thrilled.
[Sadly, Patience and Pipsqueak disappeared in the night at the beginning of the month. I wish whoever took them joy of them

I finally got a cushaw to germinate
Nothing I saved from Miss High and Mighty has worked out, so I went back to my parent cushaw seeds. I just hope there's some trellis space left before Little Chungus entirely takes over

We harvested our ripe squash today: Miss High and Mighty (left), Fat Bottomed Girl (right), Big Chungus (front), plus Fence Pumpkin and Acorna
You were asking about weights. We weren't able to weigh them but Fence Pumpkin felt ~8 lbs, and Miss High and Mighty ~10? Big Chungus was as heavy as Miss High and Mighty despite being much smaller - all the weight seems to be in the neck. So perhaps Fence Pumpkin didn't need the sling after all? Oh well, she's perfect.
I am saving seeds from Miss High and Mighty, who was dinner tonight. All three were hand pollinated so We Shall See.
I have three more cushaws on the vine (Spruce Goose didn't make it) so I hope picking the big ones will make it easier for Portchia to keep growing.
