Some Play and Musical recommendations.
Love of Three Oranges (the play not the opera). Some funny stuff, and one of the best opening speeches ever. Also had one of my favorite roles ever (I’ll leave you all to guess what that role was ;) ) Curtains a Musical Whodunnit. I mean, how can you not love something with that subtitle? The music is great, Show is funny, and another of my favorite roles in my high school acting Career. She Stoops to Conquer. A pretty funny play done in a style meant to be reminiscent of English Reconstruction Theatre (Charles the Second and what not, introducing Actresses to the English stage and such). A Man of No importance. A Musical based off of the film of the same name. Story is good about a gay Bus conductor (who is also a huge fanboy of Oscar Wilde) coming to terms with being Gay while trying to put on a production of Salome with his local Theatre Group. It also has a song in it which has made me cry at least three times (although I’ll leave you to guess which ones). You might expect me to recommend some Wilde...but I haven’t read any Wilde penned Plays yet. Though I will, Ive got a whole collection and stuff. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead by Tom Stoppard. What is the often cut out duo doing when not a part of Hamlet? Perhaps my favorite non Shakespearean play. Hilarious and thought provoking with one of my favorite monologues ever. Waiting for Godot by Samuel Beckett. I just like this one because of the amusing back and forth between the two Tramp leads. Funny, meaningless, and extra amusing because of one friend hating me a small bit for subjecting him to watch it (although I’m certain if he was casted in it he’d do marvelously). Yeah. There you go. I love this musical so much, it's so funny and my production this year was an absolute BLAST, the danceline was amazing :D
