“Fuwa, what do you think of me?”

Fuwa glanced over at Hiden, still looking out over the railing and into the water. Why was he asking him this? He seemed assured enough just a moment ago, reaffirming his intention to take down Zaia. Well, it wasn’t a head scratcher.

“You make your own rules. You don’t need the company to reach your dreams, you’ll find your own way anyways.”

Hiden looked either embarrassed or confused, tilting his head. “No, that’s not exactly what I… I mean, thanks, I guess.”

There was a pause, before a sudden firm answer from Fuwa. “I will.”

these ones have been on my mind bc fuwa did a very similar ‘blatant reinterpretation and quasi non-answer of a question’ again in 36 and i think it’s Hilarious every time. does he know? how aware is he?? hes honestly good faith trying to answer, but just overthinks what hes being asked to the point that he basically rewrites the question in his own head and answers something else instead. i love. putting pauses in. like periods and ellipses and all that. putting pauses in the right places is... so good for character voice. and also, i think does so much to imply how thoughts are being formed. do i go overboard?? maybe. but, you see-- i love it.
