Due to her strange appearance of having violet eyes and a lock of white hair in her black tresses, she is a common topic for whispered rumors in her superstitious village of Waldstadt despite the respected reputation of her adopted parents. When out hunting, something strange happens to Dezzery: a dancing flame of darkness appears before her. Progressively, other odd things start happening in her quiet village. One thing leads to another until the people of Waldstadt decide they need help from the outside before they risk being wiped from the map by the strange curse they speculate to be placed upon their village. A group of volunteers is formed to go find help from one of the larger towns outside of The Oakenward Wood. Seeing it as a chance to prove her worth, Dezzery steps up to join. Away from the only place she's ever know, the young huntress ends up in more trouble than she signed up for as she learns to survive in unfamiliar surroundings and uncovers the secrets of her origin on her quest to save her village.
