I need to clarify something important as a person who watches and likes the Asterix movies and who makes edits : I tend not to edit the characters ALONE if they are played by a piece of shit (if I'm aware of that at the time). I can of course separate the actor.ress from the character, but I tend to do that because I do not want to keep sharing a good image of said actor, like nothing happened, especially if there are still many people who don't know about the atrocities they did. I do not shame anyone who edits them in character, we're not gonna stop liking the characters just because of their asses. Just be aware of who they are, especially if you like them (the actors).
If the character is only showed in one movie and played by only one actor (like Otis for exemple), I now try to edit them without showing the actor's face that I want to punch ✨ But I can put that rule by the side if many characters are involved in one edit ('t feels less icky).
These piece of shit will not stop me from loving these characters, especially since they do not even belong to them or were involved in their creation.
This is a good time to remind you that gérard depardieu (played Obélix in pretty much all movies), edouard baer (played Otis and Asterix in God Save Britania), gérard darmon (played Pyradonis), dieudonné (played the Caius in Mission Cleopatra) and franck gastambide (played Redbeard in the Middle Kingdom) are absolutely awful human beings <3 Saying that because I know the actual "living fandom" of Asterix has a lot of people in it that are not french (/french speaking) and thus, are not aware of their actions. But do not let these assholes influence your view on the characters, they may have played them, but they certainly are NOT the ones who make them live. It's Goscinny, Uderzo, Chabat and also us.

I wanted to repost my first Otis edit (that I loved a lot at the time) but I put his monologue at the start and seeing the shithead's face for too long drives me mad 💔 But that mf certainly is not gonna stop me from loving that wonderful character that Alain Chabat created 💥💥
(Btw j'ai cité Chabat mais ça vaut pour n'importe quelle personne qui a travaillé sur des films Astérix et qui a inventé des persos obviously)
