Current aesthetic: stressed single detective/police chief father who hasn't properly slept in days because his two kid went missing and he's growing some stubble and he has dark circles under his eyes and he's sitting at the kitchen counter with his head in his hands when he hears a knock on the door and he jumps and turns around hopefully but warily wondering if he'll see his children or something worse but it's just his partner, an earnest and empathetic guy who he kept at a distance before so as to maintain his professional reputation and because ever since his first love left him he's been scared to open up to anyone but ever since his kids disappeared they've been growing closer and he's been taking care of him and getting him groceries and reminding him to eat and shower and sometimes his arm lingers around his shoulder for a touch too long to be seen as just plain friendly and the other night his partner found him drunk and crying at a bar and he took him home and cleaned him up and as he was changing his shirt he pulled him in close, the smell of whiskey on his breath, and stared intensely, eyes clearer than they'd been a second ago, and began to say something but then passed out, leaving his partner flustered and confused, touching his fingers to his lips where he could still feel the heat of his breath
