Here is the dilemma: You have long curly hair, but it's all one length and has no volume! 

After experiencing cutting my best friend's curly hair, I was up to the challenge to cutting someone else's. This lovely naturalista had long curly hair with a 3A/3B curl type  but her curls fell flat due to the length. She wanted a trim and came to me for some help. She's gotten her hair cut curly before, but had to pay an arm and a leg! Something curly girls are used to buy now, especially in Toronto!

So with a pair of hair trimming scissors, spray water bottle and an elastic, I got started.

I worked in about 4 layers, first dusting the few split ends, and keeping a V-shape.

After working on each layer, ensuring to lightly spray with water throughout, I tucked it away.

Once done all layers, I patted her hair in the way she wears it the most, then started trimming about half way down her length to create some shape and give volume (less heavy, more bouncy).

I then looked straight at her and shaped her hair to her face, evening out the sides and fluffing.

I let her look in the mirror as the final check, and she loved it!

I was super ecstatic  to have another happy client and I’m sure she’ll be back ;)
