When a non-profit organization becomes politically active, their tax status typically becomes active as well. The IRS has been cracking down on non-profit organizations that have taken a political view.

In 2008 the NAACP also faced a similar crisis with their tax-free status after having expressed their affinity for certain democrats during the election furver.
