Looking back to the last two years, we faced many challenges ahead. It hurts us to realise how we lost our home and we missed our families and friends in Hong Kong badly. We were dismayed to see how societies got polarised and split, how hatred and fear were spread all over social medias and news.

We end up asking ourselves, what can we contribute to others as we move forward to the coming year? True to our advocacy on encouraging Hope among us, to create images that helps us to go on one more day and to hold on, that WE ARE NOT ALONE, inspired us to rethink the definition of Hope. 

And this is why we created our first #Story3x3.

In retrospect, 2021 is a journey of coming together of 170 creative minds to tell 20 stories that strike a chord in us, stories that mirror our Hopes and dreams, stories that are windows into the wonderful possibilities that life has to offer, most importantly - stories that inspires us to keep going to sustain and blossom despite all difficulties. 

We want to encourage you, to find the personal message of Hope that can be applied in your daily life, because these stories are like parables. Each story was created for you. Please know that YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN, you are beloved and you are significant.

"Zine3x3: You're not forgotten“

희망의 이야기 20 / 22개국어 / 66개국 / 170명의 아티스트

이 프로젝트에는 20개의 이야기가 있다. 각 이야기 단위는 희망에 대한 하나의 주제와 함께 시작한다. 먼저 첫 번째 작가가 제목을 받아 이야기를 시작하는 이미지를 그린 뒤, 아무 설명 없이 다음 작가에게 이 그림이 전달되고 다음 작가가 첫 번째 그림을 참고하여 이야기를 잇는 그림을 창작한다. 그러면 이 그림은 다음 작가에게 전달되고 이 작가는 앞의 그림을 잇는 자신의 이야기를 그린다. 이러한 과정을 거쳐 아홉번째 이미지까지 그려지면 3X3 스토리텔링이 마무리된다.

그 과정 내내, 아티스트들은 어떤 언어의 장벽도 없이, 동시에 주제를 계속 이어가면서 자신들의 상상속에서 이야기가 진행되는 방식을 시각화하도록 격려받는다.

우리는 여러분을 초대한다. 그리하여 여러분이 Zine3x3에서 다양한 문화와 배경을 깊이 파고들어 각각의 이야기에서 연결고리를 찾는 짜릿함을 느끼기를 바란다. 또한 당신의 심장이 전 세계에서 들려오는 이 메시지들 이면에 담긴 의미를 찾고 “우리는 그대를 잊지않았다!”는 점을 알게 되기를 희망한다!
