Got a few questions from my last comic regarding Carol's mother; she probably won't make many appearances going forward, but I figured I'd give her a proper write-up.
We've gotten some delicious backstory on Carol, but when did she study the blade? Or is her skill with katanas pretty basic despite having a lot of them?
All of Cupid's children were essentially subservient to her, but Carol was always the one who believed most deeply that Cupid truly loved and appreciated them... with one exception. Carol was always interested in swords; she'd always wanted to watch old samurai films, she always played pretend with sticks in the yard, and she was always trying to share sword facts with her brothers and mother...but Cupid never relented or seemed to pay any attention to her interest. Thus, every summer, Carol attended archery classes because Cupid wanted her to be good at it, rather than because she actually enjoyed it.
(Soon as Carol ran away and changed her name, she used some of the money she'd saved and signed up for Kendo classes)
Question for your interpretation of Carol:Have Rudy,Dess and Noelle ever met Carol mother?
This may or may not be a major theme in a certain thing that I'm making but to be brief: Carol has gone to GREAT lengths to ensure that Rudy, Dess and Noelle know nothing about her family.

Cupid soon realised that while she COULD force her children to practice their instruments whenever she was around, she COULDN'T force them to experiment and practice whenever she wasn't around. Thus, their music would only ever sound sterile and rehearsed. The 'family band' was a failure, and Cupid did not tolerate failure (least of all her own).
So one night she gathered up all the instruments into her car and they disappeared off the face of the earth, any attempt to bring them up would result in Cupid playing ignorant that they ever existed at all. In an act of spite Cupid had even attempted to do the same to Sir Strum, but couldn't find him. Carol had caught wind of Cupid's plan and hid her beloved guitar in a place her mother couldn't find (her first true act of defiance against her mother). Carol only dared to bring him out again once Cupid's interests had firmly shifted to another scheme.
you may well have answered this but im incredibly curious - what was Cupid's reaction to Carol and Rudy?
Did she play in any part of it? Was it another game of matchmaker to her, or was it an act of rebelion from Carol? or a secret other option? I'm just curious how this mother who's whole thing is 'love' feels about her youngest daughter getting a partner
When Carol entered her teens she ran away from home and changed her name. She met Rudy years later when she was studying law and the two were engaged after a few years of dating (it took a long time for Carol to trust her own feelings for him). This makes Carol the only one of Cupid's seven children who married someone that she did not personally pick.
(Cupid did make a surprise appearance at the wedding right before Carol went down the aisle but that's a comic for another time)
Seeing as Cupid's children are all based on the OG (aka Rudolph-less) version of the reindeers, who is Cupid's partner? Santa but a reindeer? Elf on a shelf but very old? Some kind of 4th of July fireworks mascot?
Not all of Cupid's children have the same father; Cupid had a few partners in the past (never formally divorced, that would hurt her reputation, so they tended to just silently leave once Cupid got sick of them). Carol only met her biological father a few times when she was little. When Carol grew up, she was tempted to reconnect with him, but ultimately dismissed the idea, as ultimately at this point, he was a stranger to her, and in her memories, he was little more than a silent enabler for Cupid's bad behaviour
