Still, we went to some nice places, even if it did take a while to get to them.

Dumfries House had too many kids and the guides were not as friendly as they were everywhere else, nor was the food as good.

Same with the Willow Tea Rooms on Buchanan Street in Glasgow. We didn't try the original on Sauchiehall Street because the menu was a toss up between pub grub and high tea - Mum made a barb about not going there. I wish we had lunch at Hill House and forgot Glasgow altogether. The main dish was not tasty, ditto the tisane. The Clootie dumplings were nice, but the custard was not hot enough.

Mum doesn't want to go home and wants to spend Christmas here. I do not want to spend Christmas here as dinners have not been hot enough, so I dread how turkey would be managed, and I can't wait to get back home, despite the traffic.
