Gross out (1990)Aww FUCK, I watch bad movies for my own fun but sometimes the only reason I finish them is so I can review it to you, warn you of the coming evil onslaught or warn you to bring a barf bag and or drill to give your self a lobotomy. Made by Bill Osco ex husband of Jackie Chong. Bill appears in and co produced her legendary film The Being as well as the super low brow comedy Night Patrol with the unknown comic. Bill went on to direct another film for the Unknown comic then in 1990 make Gross out. A zero budget film whos name describes it completely, a gross out competition. In what is obviously supposed to be an homage to John Waters early films like Pink Flamingos and Female Trouble in subject matter and characters as well as filmed to look like it was made a decade earliar with very dated new wave punk esthetic. Three loser spoiled brats are told by their twisted step mother who shits and pukes as she talks to them (and we see it) while being a master of the word fuck, says that they need to make the grossest movie in the world if they want their inheritance of 28 mill. So these rejects from a troma movie go out to film people on the street being as gross as possible...and so on and so on. Pretty low life gag o rama stuff. Everyone is obnoxious and I mean everyone. Looking like a fake John Waters film that ends up being maybe even less socially relevant than the more recent fake reality show movie called Midgets vs Mascots (maybe I need to review that next). You can tell everyone thinks they are real artists in that late 70s rich trash "Trash is Art"phenomenon. Sure Bill Osco thinks he is doing that but in the first 5 minutes you meet a black face butler that is often beaten by the step mother that loves poop, you just say aahh ok I get it this is made by an asshole who thinks he's an artists. Hell I enjoy offensive stuff but there needs some pay off, this just goes on and on and on with a constant "fuck the mainstream" message that is nowhere as punk rock as it thinks it is. Hell the first thing I thought when I saw the cover was the many punk compilations CDs that I had bought in the 90s. Most of those CDs dont stand up today, different times folks, just different fuckn times. Definatly is gross though. Shrugs..gags a bit.
