These last three weeks have been difficult - excruciatingly difficult. Even before then, I'd been praying for myself to be present and not worried about tomorrow. I know this is the only way I can love people. I hated the issues I was going through because I knew I could never be fully alive with those around me while being trapped in my own pain. I was continually drawn away from others and into myself, which made me feel further inadequate. This cycle repeated itself until I broke down emotionally and was broken down physically. From that point, I learned I can never be present, it is only the presence of Christ within me that can demonstrate love to others. In my desire to be present, I focused on just the day ahead. Recently, I haven't even had the strength for just one day. I've needed help for stupid things like putting on a jacket to big things like carrying my backpack. As my brothers and sisters assisted me each moment, my pride in myself as a traveler, as a friend, as a Christian was trampled. Absolute dependence on others certainly is one way to learn about humility. A while ago, I might have said something dramatic like, "This is the worst!" But I know that's not true because I also got to ride a camel in the Sahara desert, learn some Arabic, buy scarves and I am currently driving through a snow storm in the Atlas Mountains. I think the snow on our final day in Morocco captured what I experienced. I often say that I dislike snow because although it's beautiful, it's also cold and wet. Still, as we weaved through the mountains I stared with wonder out the window as the flurries frosted the landscape. It was another joy, a parting gift from Morocco. There have been so many gifts like that these past two weeks that even though I walk through hardship, I can never describe the experience as anything less than good. No matter what, I am still living my dream of traveling the world while also serving God. Before I conclude, I want to say thank you to the support systems both near and far who have cared for me so deeply during these difficult times. Your faithful love has pointed me to Jesus over and over. Now that my pride is smashed (mostly) and some of my stubbornness too, I'm going to embrace the process of healing I am on. I am going to embrace the fact that I need to depend on others. I am going to embrace that Christ shines in my weaknesses.

In the last months, I've seen a lot of blind people singing in trains and train platforms, city squares and centers.
