Hi, thank you so much! I plan to live in my tiny house with my partner of five and a half years, and ours is actually going to be about the same size as the one you are interested in! As long as you have personalities compatible enough to be in close corridors so frequently with the other person, I think anyone could do it.

I can't stress enough how important design is. The perfect design (and by this, the one that suits YOU best) can change your entire outlook on the size of the structure. Also, high ceilings and brightly colored colored walls, whether it be pine or just brightly painted, can create the illusion of a large room.

Hey, thank you so much! I'm really excited to see how it turns out too! I hope that by following my progress, it will make it easier to build one yourself. Plus, I'm sure I'll make plenty of mistakes so you'll know what to avoid.

I'm actually currently in college too (I'm twenty, but will be twenty one in just a few short months)! I think anything done within a $10,000-12,000 range is do-able for a college student. Depending on how much stuff you salvage from the junk yard, craigslist, or even off the side of the road (you'd be surprised how much nice, usable stuff people throw away), you could build almost any tiny house under 170 sq ft for that price, so long as you build it yourself. Labor alone will cost you at least a few grand. We are building our tiny house out of pocket, so as we finish one step, we are saving up for another.

This is the first time my fiancé and I have ever built anything, and we are just learning as we go. Although it has been somewhat difficult, and VERY time consuming, I am very confident that we will be able to complete this project ourselves because we are both extremely passionate about this tiny house, and it will become our permanent residence upon completion.
