         ❛   wonder  what  DOES  make  a  good  relationship.  you  know  ?   ❜   annie  shrugs;  she  is  thinking  out  loud,  really  --  something  she  often  does  without  realizing.   she’s  been  raised  with  manners,  though,  and  so  she  offers  a  pressed  smile  to  the  other,  meeting  her  eyes,  pulling  herself  out  of  her  daydream.  inviting  her  conversational  partner  back.   ❛   don’t  think  i’ve  met  one  person  lately  that  said  their  marriage  didn’t  totally  suck.  ❜   except  for  my  parents,  annie  thinks  with  indifference,  and  they’re  certainly  not  raving  about  it.
