So like Clones being physically affectionate, because nobody else is going to be caring and gentle with them so the least they can do is give that to each other

Clone cadets cuddling together inside those crampy little sleeping pods. I headcanon that baby!Fives was claustrophobic and it was always like pulling teeth for his superiors to try to get him to sleep in those things until Hevy and Echo started sneaking in to sit with him after lights-out (it was harder to do after they got bigger).

Fives prefers to sleep with someone else there even after he leaves Kamino, and he explains why to some of the other troops and Jesse and Hardcase are like: “!!!!” because they were scared claustrophobic little kids too and they thought something was wrong with them but now here’s an ARC Trooper who went through the exact same thing!

Older clones realizing way later in life that like… physical contact.. is…. really nice? I can’t imagine Rex got a lot, or any, physical affection growing up. Then one day Ahsoka hugs him, which is… weird? But not really bad. and he has this sort of niece/sister who he loves, and all these brothers who he loves, and hugging them and being hugged by them is, yeah, really nice. and I bet waxer was pretty cuddly and friendly with other clones when he was a kid, but Boil probably wasn’t. and there’s not one moment with him like there was with Rex, but Waxer keeps touching his shoulders and grabbing his arms when he’s anxious or excited, and Boil’s like ‘wth are you doing?’ but eventually figures out that this is Waxer’s way of showing affection and so starts doing the same things to him. They’re still not super touchy-feely (Boil still has some negative associations with physical contact) but the little moments where they brush by each other help keep them both grounded.
