This is another good technique for trying to optimise the performance of your site. The purpose of this is to chunk images into a file and make them retrievable in a quicker way. By using CSS, this can limit the amount of work HTTP requests would have to make. This also makes up for the fact that the file sizes may be slightly higher, but this is a more effective way of organisation. You can use software such as Grunt, which I will show next.

Always trying to better my skills and try new things I've been fiddling with various ways to approach CSS Sprite creation including JS solutions, which are just way to complicated for me at this point to even wrap my head around.
